Our History
What's in a name?
Faria was founded with the purpose of enhancing efficiency in education globally.
The name of our organization, Faria, comes from the fictional character, Abbé Faria, who was immortalized in the novel by Alexandre Dumas, The Count of Monte Cristo.
In captivity, Faria provides Edmond Dantes with a foundation - an education in the arts, sciences, mathematics and languages. In freedom, Faria provides Dantes with the knowledge of capital.
We seek to honor Faria’s legacy in serving you, who nobly follow in his footsteps.
Our Principles
We deliver efficiency. We measure our success by the amount of time saved and paperwork eliminated.
Great service matters. We take our responsibility seriously. We pride ourselves on our fast e-mail replies and 24/7 accessibility. Whether you are in Hong Kong, Geneva or New York, we are awake when you are.
Software should be affordable. When we first started, our competition was charging over $4,000 a year to sell you a server with their obsolete software. We thought that was obscene, which is why our products are less than $10 per student (no server required).
We don’t nickel and dime. Our competitors love charging fees for setup, training, maintenance and upgrades. We do not. There are no hidden fees and no surprises. We operate transparently.
Our schools are our investors. They fund our development by paying for our service and by providing us with new ideas. We answer to them.
We are patient long-term builders. Benjamin Franklin once said, “Energy and persistence conquer all things.” We work hard to build great software and to exceed expectations.
We’ve been in business for four years, and serving the community of IB schools has been our core focus. These are some of our key milestones.
