ManageBac is the leading web-based solution designed to help IB schools comprehensively manage the IB Diploma, Middle Years and Primary Years programmes.

For Coordinators, ManageBac centralizes your IB records and deadlines allowing you to oversee requirements more efficiently. It keeps your students organized with a consolidated planner and significantly reduces paperwork for teachers. It began with CAS, but expanded to cover EE, ToK & Internal Assessment requirements for the Diploma programme, and Community & Service and the Personal Project for the Middle Years programme.

What do I need to run ManageBac?

ManageBac is a web-based application that is hosted on our servers, all you need is an internet connection and a modern web browser with JavaScript enabled. We would recommend using Google Chrome for the best experience, but Safari, Internet Explorer or Firefox all work fine on Macs & PCs.

How does the new CAS Guide affect ManageBac?

ManageBac's predecessor (Eduvo CAS Manager) was updated to follow the new CAS curriculum released in March of 2008. Students can track their activities against the eight learning outcomes and provide documentation with up to six types of evidence. How much does ManageBac cost?

ManageBac is provided as an annual subscription service for $10 per DP student. For MYP and PYP, the cost varies with the total number of students, but you can try the service with a free 90-day trial.

Who is behind ManageBac?

ManageBac is a service provided by Faria Systems Inc., which was founded in 2007 by three former IB students at the University of Pennsylvania.

We develop solutions that enhance efficiency in education globally.

What is your relationship with the IBO?

We have been granted a license by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) for the use of certain proprietary forms; however, ManageBac has been developed independently of the IBO. We are not a subsidiary, employee, or affiliate of the IBO. The IBO does not endorse any software companies, including ours.

What do you need from me to get setup?

Setting up ManageBac is quick and easy. There is no technical setup, and we can have you ready to go in a few business hours. The main step is adding your student accounts - to do so, you will need a list of their first & last names and their email addresses (we can provide a work around if you do not have their email addresses on file). After that, you'll immediately start enjoying the benefits of a better organized, more efficient IB programme.

Yes, we guarantee a response by phone or e-mail within a maximum of 24 hours, and during normal US business hours, we are much quicker than that.
What language is ManageBac built on?

ManageBac was built on Ruby on Rails. It is proudly W3C compliant.

Where is ManageBac hosted?

ManageBac is hosted at various data centers around the world, in order to ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws in your country. Are my files backed up?

Yes, files are backed up in real-time on redundant RAID storage locally, and disk images are backed up daily at the data center. Records are also encrypted, and backed up off-site at a separate facility three times each week. For more information, learn about our infrastructure.

Can I export my information from ManageBac once it is in the system?

You can export student information directly using a series of PDF forms from the Handbook of Procedures, which we have licensed from the IBO, or you can export individual data fields in Excel CSV format. You can also download all files submitted by your students.

How secure is ManageBac?

ManageBac is run with SSL giving users 128-bit encryption. The system is entirely password-protected, so public users do not have access.
